Job Summary

• This role will primarily anchor STL’s Business Excellence and ISO Management Systems, with focus on driving, implementing and sustaining Group-wide ISO certifications (e.g. Quality, Safety, BCM, Supply Chain Security).

• The incumbent is expected to be a strong implementer, taking full ownership to operationalise ISO frameworks across Verticals and ensuring systems are integrated, audit-ready, and consistently practised.

• As the designated Management Representative (MR) for the company, this role will represent STL at Group level to certification bodies and external stakeholders, ensuring governance, compliance, and continual improvement of the integrated management system.

• Support the application of Operational Excellence (Lean Six Sigma), BPR and JRR methodologies to drive targeted process improvements and efficiency gains where relevant.

• Act as a change agent to promote a culture of continuous improvement and performance discipline across the organisation.

Responsibilities

Business Excellence - Group ISO Certifications

• Lead and drive Group-wide ISO Management Systems across all Verticals and Corporate functions, ensuring all critical certifications are achieved, sustained, and continuously improved.

• Lead a cross-functional network of full-time and extended team members (Vertical representatives), taking full accountability for end-to-end certification planning, execution, and risk management across multiple ISO standards.

• Integrate and harmonise various ISO management systems at Group level, ensuring consistency, standardisation, and alignment with STL’s integrated management system.

• Take full ownership of STL’s electronic Quality Management System (eQMS), ensuring governance, system integrity, user adoption, and day-to-day operational effectiveness.

• Build and institutionalise ISO capabilities across the Group, including developing a strong pool of trained Lead and Internal Auditors, and always ensuring sustained audit readiness.

Operational Excellence - CI & Lean Management

• Work closely with Head of Business Excellence & Sustainability (BE&S) to define, facilitate and deliver the continual improvement strategy for the Group to facilitate cost reduction and improvement opportunities projects to support the Group/BU’s strategic direction.

• Work closely with the key stakeholders and/or Vertical/BU Heads in the Group’s Continuous Improvement Journey to identify areas where CI initiatives and projects can add value to the company’s performance.

• Facilitate/coach the various BUs to generate CI projects pipelines and assist BUs to prioritize significant ones that will have high impact to business within an appropriate timeframe.

• Lead the consolidation of Balanced Scorecard inputs from all Verticals/ Business Units. Track performance outcomes and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Benchmark and keep abreast of latest CI/Lean developments to continuously improve and incorporate relevant topics into sustaining STL’s OE program.

Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) & Job Redesign Reskilling (JRR)

• Together with Head of BE&S, engage key stakeholders including CEO, COO, Vertical Heads and GMs to translate BU strategies / Objectives into operational frameworks and provide advice on end-to-end process improvement.

• Lead and facilitate BPR, Job Redesign Reskilling (JRR), and Process Improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.

• Partner with Business Units to review end‑to‑end processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement practical, sustainable improvements.

• Leverage digital tools, automation, data analytics, and appropriate AI‑enabled solutions to improve process performance and decision‑making.

• Work closely with Technology/Innovation Team to drive a culture of Continuous Improvement (CI) and Innovation across the STL Group.

Other Tasks

• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirement
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Business or a related discipline

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Excellence and/ or Logistics environment with extensive hands-on experience in developing and successfully driving Business & Operational Excellence practices.

• Strong working knowledge of ISO Management System standards and certification requirements, with hands-on experience in implementation and audit processes.

• Lead Auditor certified (or equivalent) is required

• Preferably Green Belt certified with proven ability in application of Lean Six Sigma & BPR methods and tools

• Knowledge of Data Analytics and AI tools eg. Power BI, Power App, etc.

• Ability to work together and manage cross-functional collaboration and projects to achieve intended outcomes.

• A strong team player with high Initiative, demonstrated planning skills, strategic thinking and proven performance in problem-solving

• Able to influence stakeholders and interface with Leaders and Professionals on all levels.

• Strong facilitation, verbal and written communication skills

• Work Location : 60 Pioneer Road, Tuas

• Working Hours & Time : Monday - Friday : 8am - 5.30pm
