Job Summary
The Business Development Senior Manager drives business growth by identifying and evaluating new market opportunities, managing stakeholder relationships, and coordinating investment and partnership activities across Singapore and regional markets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business growth strategies aligned with the Company’s strategic objectives
- Conduct market research, sector studies, and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions
- Identify new markets, sectors, and business models that support the Company’s priorities
- Deliver timely insights on industry trends, market risks, and growth opportunities
- Source, assess, and recommend investment opportunities to diversify and grow the portfolio in Singapore and regional markets
- Perform preliminary screening, commercial assessments, financial analyses, and market research on potential investments
- Coordinate due diligence activities and prepare investment proposals, business cases, and recommendation papers for management and Board review
- Initiate and manage preliminary discussions with target companies, potential partners, and stakeholders
- Support negotiations related to acquisitions, investments, collaborations, and joint ventures
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with business owners, investors, industry partners, government agencies, and other key stakeholders
- Lead or support commercial negotiations, transaction structuring, due diligence, and post-investment monitoring
- Communicate effectively through presentations and stakeholder engagement to advance business objectives
- Work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve business goals
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, investment sourcing, evaluation, mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, or related commercial functions in Singapore and/or regional markets
- Proven track record in identifying, sourcing, and evaluating investment opportunities, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions, or new business ventures
- Strong skills in market research, financial analysis, valuation assessments, commercial due diligence, and investment feasibility studies
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Experience supporting or leading commercial negotiations, transaction structuring, due diligence, and post-investment monitoring
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
