Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented and proactive professional looking to build your career in the maritime industry? SBS Shipbrokers is seeking a Broker Operations Executive to support the day-to-day operational and administrative activities of our shipbroking business. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure to the shipping industry while working closely with brokers, counterparties, and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution and administration of transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational and administrative support to shipbrokers across various stages of the broking process
  • Prepare, review, and maintain fixture notes, recap emails, contracts, and other transaction-related documentation
  • Coordinate with shipowners, charterers, and external parties to facilitate the smooth execution of fixtures and transactions
  • Maintain accurate records of fixtures, market information, and transactional data within internal systems
  • Monitor post-fixture activities and follow up on outstanding documentation and operational matters
  • Liaise with finance teams on invoicing, commission matters, and payment follow-ups where required
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and market updates to support business activities
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and maintain proper documentation and filing standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
  • Up to 2 years of experience in shipping, maritime operations, logistics, trade operations, or an administrative support role; fresh graduates with a keen interest in shipping are welcome to apply
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive and service-oriented mindset.
