Job Description
Purpose:
- The BIM Coordinator is a highly skilled and proactive professional who aids in driving the successful implementation and compliance of all system and processes across corporate BIM projects, including integration with CoreNET X system requirements.
- This pivotal role involves executing project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) to achieve BIM/VDC/IDD goals, leading, organizing and participating in coordination meetings, and meticulously managing clash detections/reports to ensure timely resolution of design and construction conflicts, particularly those impacting CoreNET X compliance.
- The BIM Coordinator is also responsible for producing high-quality, CoreNET X compliant BIM deliverables that meet LOD/LOIN specifications, performing rigorous QA and QC on models and documentations against Singapore's BIM standards, and maintaining robust version control and file management on CDE platforms in alignment with CoreNET X.
- This role includes providing support to staff training, essential on-the-job coaching and guidance to project team members on effective BIM/ CoreNET X system utilization for BIM processes and submissions. Success in this position requires strong BIM Application expertise, a deep understanding of Regulatory Submission & Clearance, and excellent Project Management & Stakeholder Management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Area:
- Execute BIM implementation, working with BIM manager to ensure all disciplines/models are well aligned and integrated effectively to CoreNET X system as well to support the efficient delivery of the projects in accordance to project-specific BEPs to achieve all project BIM/VDC/IDD goals.
- Organize and support BIM stakeholders and cross-functional teams; communicating BIM/CoreNet expectations and data-related issues, providing support on clash detection analyses, time-estimation and scheduling within existing systems, liaising with project stakeholders on project BEP's responsibility matrix and BIM-related system matters.
- Lead/participate and co-ordinate all BIM collaboration across teams, consultants, contractors and clients, facilitating co-ordination meetings, providing timely updates on clash detections, conflict resolutions, BIM/CoreNET X issues/solutioning as well as prepare clash reports and coordination logs.
- Support the production and maintenance of all corporate BIM models, ensuring BIM standards, CoreNET X compliances for all BIM project deliverables as per responsibility matrix as well as meeting Level of Development (LOD)/Level of Information Need (LOIN) requirements and project BEP schedules
- Guide project teams, executing developmental plan, identifying and flagging inconsistencies, weakness or missing elements in the BIM models, permission and file control, documentation/ process flow so as to improve the quality of digital practice, including those of CoreNet processes.
- Review BIM model(s), drawing sets, documentations, ensuring QA and QC, compliance to BIM/CoreNet standards and project-specific BEPs, support planned audits/model checks, ensuring that all stakeholders adhered to agreed modelling standards, project conventions and structures/ protocols.
- Support BIM Manager in proper BIM/CoreNetX file management, maintain accurate version controls via appropriate CDE platforms, safeguard all corporate's BIM protocol, digital standards and content library resources to ensure a sustainable knowledge management.
- Advocate for advanced and innovative BIM based methodologies and aid the adoption of advanced technologies and integration of practices between various organizational system interfaces, including to create value and raise the level of digital processes and practice within the organization.
- Co-ordinate and support BIM manager in designing and developing digital learning materials and training resources, providing on-the-job coaching and guidance to project team members to upskill the competence of users, thereby ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
Key Competencies and Experience:
1. BIM Application
a. Experience in Revit and/or 2OpenBuildings / OpenRoads / OpenRail / OpenBridges (Depending on Trades as required), AECOsim
b. Use Building Information Modelling to make design, project and operational information accurate, accessible and actionable
c. Ability to analyze complex models and identify potential issues or improvements.
d. Experience in BIM 360 and/or ProjectWise
2. Regulatory Submission & Clearance
a. Effective verbal and written communication to convey technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
b. Experience and knowledge in relevant system design
c. Basic knowledge on reading and interpretation of engineering drawings
3. Project Management & Stakeholder Management
a. Shows responsibility in assigned tasks and ensures follow-through without reminders
b. Seek guidance when needed and take the initiative to expand domain knowledge
c. Good communication and staff management skills
Requirements:
- Diploma or equivalent in relevant discipline
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Experience in Revit and/or 2OpenBuildings / OpenRoads / OpenRail / OpenBridges (Depending on Trades as required), AECOsim
- Experience and knowledge in relevant discipline-specific design. Experience in site coordination is of an advantage.
- Good knowledge on reading and interpretation of engineering drawings.
- Experience in Autodesk Construction Cloud and/or ProjectWise is of an advantage.
