Job Overview

Element is seeking a Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring Technician. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for assisting in designing, planning, and coordinating geotechnical instrumentation projects. This includes scheduling control, obtaining permits for on-site installation, and setting up and commissioning monitoring equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation & Maintenance: Assist in installing and maintaining geotechnical instruments such as inclinometers, piezometers, and settlement markers.
  

• Data Collection: Collect and record monitoring data from the job site.
  

• Equipment Calibration: Regularly check instruments to ensure they are working correctly and keep tools organized and ready for use.
  

• Reporting: Assist in preparing reports and summaries of the collected data.
  

• Collaboration & Safety: Work closely with engineers and the project team while strictly following safety rules and site regulations at all times.
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Minimum Secondary School education or 0–2 years of experience in testing or a related field.
  

• Industry Knowledge: Working experience in the construction industry and basic knowledge of testing concepts and computer skills.
  

• Physical Fitness: Physically fit and able to withstand challenging on-site working conditions.
  

• Mindset: Self-motivated team player with excellent organizational and communication skills. Must have a strong quality focus and the determination to meet tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
