Our client is a leading player in a complex, project-driven industry with significant operations in Singapore and the region.

The role

This is a broad in-house legal role supporting the General Counsel across commercial, operational and strategic matters, with a stronger emphasis on EPC, construction and project-related legal work. The successful candidate will work closely with the business on contracts, disputes, risk management and major projects.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate EPC, construction, procurement and other commercial contracts
• Support legal issues arising from major projects, business operations and new initiatives
• Advise on disputes, claims and litigation, including external counsel management
• Support on corporate, restructuring, JV and other business-driven matters
• Strengthen legal templates, processes and internal frameworks
• Provide advice on compliance, governance and regulatory issues relevant to the business

Requirements

• At least 10 years’ PQE
• Trained in a reputable law firm and/or gained relevant in-house experience
• Strong experience in EPC, construction, infrastructure or major project work
• Experience in commercial contracts and disputes / claims management
• Prior exposure to offshore, marine, engineering, energy or renewables sectors would be advantageous
• Commercially minded, practical and able to work independently with stakeholders across the business
