Job Description
Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the project management team in overseeing construction projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will assist in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards, while facilitating coordination among stakeholders under the guidance of the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Lifecycle Support:
Assist in managing projects from initiation to closeout, helping to monitor budget, schedule, and quality under the direction of the Project Manager.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Serve as a secondary point of contact between clients, design consultants, subcontractors, and internal site teams. Help ensure clear communication and smooth workflow, escalating issues as needed.
Planning & Risk Management:
Support the creation and updating of project master schedules using MS Project. Help identify potential delays or issues and assist in implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track.
Compliance & Safety:
Help ensure site activities comply with statutory building regulations, safety requirements, and authority approvals. Assist in preparing and organizing necessary documentation for compliance.
Technical Review & Problem-Solving:
Review project drawings and documents under supervision. Flag technical conflicts and assist in proposing efficient, buildable solutions for approval by the Project Manager.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct routine site inspections to monitor work progress and report on adherence to approved materials, methods, and specifications. Document non-conformances for follow-up.
Financial Oversight Support:
Track project costing and variations. Assist in verifying subcontractor payment claims and help optimize allocation of labor and materials under guidance.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare accurate progress reports, RFIs (Requests for Information), site diaries, and other documentation for management and client review. Maintain organized project records.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
A relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
At least 3–5 years of experience in construction project coordination or assistant management roles. Experience in A&A (Additions & Alterations) and private residential (landed house) projects is highly advantageous.
Competencies:
Good problem-solving abilities with a team-oriented mindset.
Solid understanding of construction sequences, local building codes, and safety management systems.
Familiarity with subcontractor coordination and basic contract administration.
Competent in using MS Project for scheduling and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication.
Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Project Manager and works closely with site supervisors, subcontractors, and administrative staff.
Remuneration:
A monthly salary will be offered commensurate with experience.
