Job Description

The AGM will support the GM in the strategic leadership and daily operational management of the organization. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence across Sea, Air and Land Transport, ensuring financial profitability (P&L), and leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

1. Leadership and Strategic Planning:

- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the logistics departments. (Sea, Air, Transport)

- Develop departmental goals, objectives, and initiatives aligned with the company's overall strategic vision.

2. Operational Management:

- Oversee all operational activities within the logistics departments

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

- Monitor operational performance to optimize efficiency and service quality.

3. Customer Relationship Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

- Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.

- Provide quotation to customers.

4. Supplier Relationship Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers

-Having negotiation skills with suppliers for the rates.

-Manage suppliers’ performance.

5. Financial Management:

- Develop and manage the departmental budget, including revenue forecasting, cost control, and profitability analysis.

- Identify opportunities to maximize revenue and minimize costs while maintaining service quality.

- Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

- Generate achievement reports provide insights into operational metrics, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

6. Process Improvement and Optimization:

- Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

- Implement new technologies and tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual work.

- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks to improve service delivery.

7. Team Development:

- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team.

- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

8. Risk Management and Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

- Implement and enforce policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure legal compliance.

- Identify and address potential risks related to cargo handling, customs compliance, and security.

9. Strategic Partnerships and Business Development:

- Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships with customers and other stakeholders.

- Collaborate with sales team to promote Sankyu's logistics services and expand market share.

- Participate in industry events and networking activities to enhance the company's visibility and reputation.


Requirements:

- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or global supply chain management.

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior manager role with a proven track record of managing large, multi-functional teams.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Deep knowledge of sea freight, air freight, and land transport operations.

- Familiarity with logistics systems, operational reporting, and performance metrics (KPIs).

- Ability to work in a dynamic, regional business environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Proven leadership experience managing logistics operations and leading teams in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience in customer relationship management, including handling key accounts and providing logistics solutions to clients.

- Comprehensive understanding of Singapore Customs regulations, international shipping procedures, and TradeNet and Import/Export documentation.

- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
