We are seeking an Application Security Engineer to join a cybersecurity team focused on strengthening the organisation's security posture through vulnerability management, application security assessments, and secure development practices. You will work closely with application, infrastructure, and project teams to identify security risks, support remediation efforts, and integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct host vulnerability assessments and web application vulnerability scanning activities.
• Analyse vulnerability findings, validate security risks, and coordinate remediation efforts with stakeholders.
• Manage vulnerability tracking, reporting, and follow-up activities to ensure timely resolution.
• Support application security testing activities, including SAST, DAST, and web application security assessments.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and project teams to integrate security controls and secure-by-design principles into applications and systems.
• Support security reviews, hardening recommendations, and secure software development initiatives.
• Assist in the implementation, enhancement, and operationalisation of security tools and technologies.
• Prepare security reports, dashboards, metrics, and management updates on vulnerability and application security activities.
• Support cybersecurity projects, vendor coordination, and process improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements to enhance security effectiveness and efficiency.

Requirements

• Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Application Security, Vulnerability Management, Security Operations, DevSecOps, or a related cybersecurity function.
• Hands-on experience conducting vulnerability assessments and web application security testing.
• Familiarity with security testing methodologies such as SAST, DAST, and web application vulnerability assessments.
