Costing Engineer (Precision Machining)

Salary: $3,500 – $5,000

Working Hours: 8:15am – 5:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Location: Changi North

Job Description

Support precision machining projects by providing accurate cost analysis and timely quotation support. This role plays a key part in RFQ management, DFM coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure competitive and feasible pricing.

• Review and validate costing sheets for accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate with Supply Chain to obtain timely supplier quotations
• Manage RFQs and ensure submissions meet committed timelines
• Track RFQ progress and escalate issues or delays when necessary
• Work with internal teams to develop project timelines and Gantt charts
• Lead and participate in DFM discussions with customers
• Review DFM outputs and quotations for feasibility and cost effectiveness
• Ensure deliverables meet customer requirements and agreed schedules
• Coordinate with internal teams for smooth handover to project and production

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Costing Engineer or similar role in mechanical or precision engineering
• Degree in Mechanical, Precision Engineering, or related field
• Strong experience in RFQ processes and basic project coordination
• Good understanding of costing, DFM, materials, surface treatments, and manufacturing processes (precision machining and sheet metal fabrication)
• Familiar with project planning tools (e.g. Gantt charts, MS Project)
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SolidWorks
• Good communication skills with ability to liaise with customers
• Strong team player with good coordination skills
