A local company specialising in artisanal gifts with a precision engineering environment, is seeking a talented 3D Drafter to contribute to developing high-quality 3D models from 2D designs for precision engineered products using CAD/CAM tools. Flexi-Work arrangements are available.

Job Description:

3D Modeling & Drafting: Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings from 2D designs for use in product development, ensuring accuracy and precision in every component and final product.
CAD/CAM Software Proficiency: Utilize advanced CAD/CAM software to develop models, modify existing designs, and prepare files for 3D presentations, prototyping, and manufacturing.
Collaboration with Engineers & Designers: Work closely with the product engineering and design teams to transform concepts into fully realized 3D models, ensuring the designs are feasible for production while maintaining design integrity.
Product Design Refinement: Revise and refine 3D models based on feedback from senior designers, engineers, or clients, ensuring the highest standard of detail and functionality.
Design for Manufacturing: Focus on creating designs that are not only visually appealing but also manufacturable, optimizing for both aesthetics and production efficiency. Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities and constraints.
Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation for designs, ensuring all specifications, measurements, and materials are clearly communicated for use in manufacturing and quality control.
3D Presentations: Contribute to the creation of high-quality 3D renderings and animations to present design concepts to internal teams or clients, ensuring visual accuracy and clarity.

Job Requirements:

Education: Diploma or Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
Experience: Internship or professional experience in drafting and design, with a focus on 3D modeling and technical drawings.
CAD/CAM Software Proficiency: Expertise in CAD/CAM software such as Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
Attention to Detail: Strong ability to work with intricate designs and translate them into precise 3D models, ensuring every aspect of the product is accurately represented.
Creative & Technical Balance: Ability to balance creativity with technical precision, ensuring that your designs are not only visually striking but also functional and ready for production.
Problem-Solving & Innovation: Capacity to troubleshoot and refine designs when faced with manufacturing challenges, offering innovative solutions to design constraints.
Communication & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with product designers, engineers, and production teams.
